Back to work Monday April 15th Recovery is going well. Just a bit stiff in the leg. A nice scare to add to my collection of leg scars! OOPs! Well the TRAMA OF SURGERY (no the body does not like to be opened up) caused my heart condition which is AFIB or something like it to be unhappy. Over the weekend of 12th - 14th I was having ATRIAL FLUTTER at night. On Sunday night it never quit and when I told my Doctor he said "GO TO EMERGENCY RIGHT NOW!". So off to the hospital where they tried several methods to correct my 144 beats per minute heart beat. Fast means inefficient and that can lead to blood clots. Blood clots lead to stroke or death! On the second day they did a cardiovert, meaning paddle electro shock! Well that worked and back to normal now. 3 days at the hospital. Are you thinking about your health these days? For the first two days the guy in the other hospital bed in my room who was 69 was dying of COPD and lung cancer. Scary stuff! He could barely breath. People came to talk to him and his wife about end of life hospice preparations. Later an ambulance came to take him home. After a hour or so of quiet and alone in the room....in came another guy, 66 years old, in severe level 10 chest pain. Apparently he had OPEN HEART SURGERY a month ago and now something is not right. They hooked him up to a nitro drip or something. He was / is in bad shape. Will he survive? Both these guys were not much older than myself or my friends. If you are healthy be thankful for that, this whole experience was a wake up call for me. My worst habbit is enjoying spirits too much. Beer, Wine, Whisky, I love them all. But they are not good for me. But I love to tip one or two most days of the week. Well let me tell you when you tell your doctor this they give you the stink eye. I promised Katie I would stop enjoying the spirits like I have been. My plan is to go without for at least a month. Then no more that once a week. I really do not like the idea of giving them up all together. How are you doing? |

Special Note for the next week or so Tuesday the 9th I will be having Knee surgery so I will be out of commission for at least this week I suspect. As soon as I recover I will be back at listing and filling orders. |

We are just back from the Hot Wheels Collectors Nationals in
Atlanta, GA. What a wonderful time Katie and I had visiting all of our collector friends. I have been to 65 conventions since 1991 and while there I have made many lifelong friendships. If you would like to have access to a thousand potiential friendships you should plan to attend the next Hot Wheels Convention. Oh yeah and there are a million toy cars for sale at each convention.  |
